Visited 10/6/24. Northern Waters is a tried and true favorite every time I'm in Duluth. If you're there on a weekend, be prepared to wait (and to struggle to find parking in Canal) but wow is it worth it every time. I love the expanded space in what used to be Amazing Grace in the basement of DeWitt Seitz. Full disclosure, I've never had a bad sandwich here and this time didn't disappoint either. I tried the Slammin Gordon for the first time and I LOVED the salmon pate on it, so much that I almost considered buying some to go from the deli. Fresh, full of flavor, and also filling before a drive back to the cities. Also got to try the potato salad and despite not being a potato salad person I still loved this too. Northern Waters never misses, it's as simple as that.

Cool vibe. Nice and friendly staff. Huge selection of drinks and sandwiches. I got the pastrami mommy and my wife got the mmhmm. We both thought ours was the best. I can say I would eat the pastrami mommy again for sure!

If you're in Duluth and looking for some lunch or dinner, this is a must stop place! Beware as it'll likely be quite busy over peak hours (because it's so good and popular) but don't let that deter you. The food is always incredible and they always have something for everybody. They recently upgraded and moved locations within the building and there's tons of room to sit inside and out now!

The NWS Salad was so tasty! Smoked salmon, pickled ginger, chopped almonds and wasabi mayo are a delicious flavor combination. ‍ The outside seating with friends on a beautiful day in Canal Park - what could be better?

One of the "must visit" places any time I'm in the Duluth area. It's a cute sandwich shop and deli in the basement of a touristy section of Canal Park. The service is always amazingly friendly and quick. They've got a ton of sandwich options and the deli case is loaded with top tier smoked seafood, dips, cheeses, and anything you would want to make a snaking board. They also have live music most evenings so you could grab dinner and stick around for a show. The Sitka Sushi sandwich had a really flavorful kimchi and aioli but that's ended up totally blowing the lox flavor out of the water. Don't know if I'd get it again since I like to taste the salmon. Would love to try their tofu sandwich next time.

Must stop in Duluth if you love smoked fish and meats. There isn't a bad sandwich in the place. Fresh and tasty, with easy walk up ordering and friendly service. It has a bit of a food hall vibe but is laid back and nice for a pit stop if you're continuing north past Duluth or on your way home.

If you like smoked meats, go here. The Cajun Finn is amazing. Great selection of smoked meats and snack sticks and cheeses

Super fun little place with a deli market and restaurant in downtown Duluth. We came on a recommendation from a friend as we passed through on our way back to the cities from Lutsen. We of course had to stop and check out what kind of yummy smoked fish they had and ended up getting a couple pounds of the sweet & Smokey sockeye salmon candy. I didn't think I'd like it but the brown sugar mixed with the Smokey fish was a really great combo! Their sandwiches looked amazing but I would stay away from the Banh Faux Mi.. it was pretty terrible. My husband ordered the Sitka sushi that was really tasty!

The food was excellent. Cute place to dine. However, we went to make a to go order. Very hard to make a pickup online. They cater to their in store customers first which totally makes sense to me. We were there on a cloudy Tuesday and business was just picking up. I had to try the Cajun Finn that everyone was raving about. It was delicious. As my husband put it ..."my sandwich is good but yours is great". He had the Italiansk. Also tried tried a side of potato salad that was excellent. Definitely will eat here anytime we are in town. Highly recommend. They also have a small deli of cheeses and smoked meats. Easy to get sucked in. Ha. We will be back.
